On International Women’s Day, we’re proud to put the spotlight on two talented engineers from the Oasis projects team – Sapir Pinchas and Sahar Ohana.
Two women who broke boundaries, shattered stigmas and are building impressive technology careers in a world that is still considered largely male.
How did it all begin?
Sapir first encountered the world of technology during her military service, when she was assigned as a communications technician in the Iron Dome array. Being responsible for the critical communication between the battery and the field sparked her curiosity and led her to choose a career in the field. After her service, and at the end of the big post-army trip, she decided to dive deeper into networking and cyber, gained experience at Bezeq’s IPVPN centre, worked as an integrator, and finally found her place at Oasis.
Sahar, on the other hand, discovered her passion for technology in high school, when she studied electronics at the highest level. Her military service in the Hoshen technology unit strengthened her professional skills in networking and information security, and after her service she joined us at Oasis, where she started in the support team and is now part of the team leading advanced solutions for the company’s customers.

Challenges and stigmas: how do you deal with them?
“Within the professional technical teams we have always been treated with respect and cooperation,” say Sapir and Sahar, “but with outside parties we sometimes ran into stigmas, prejudice and the need to prove ourselves. Many times customers were sceptical of us simply because we’re women. Our way of dealing with it is to let the results speak for themselves – once you show knowledge and professionalism, there’s no room left for questions.”
What does Women’s Day mean to you?
“For us, Women’s Day is a reminder that the equality we have today didn’t always exist and certainly can’t be taken for granted – many women fought so that we could be here. It’s also a day to look ahead and remember that there are still places in the world where women don’t get the same opportunity. We want to inspire other women who want to join the technology field, and show them there’s no limit to what they can achieve.”
Success to learn from
Sapir shares a personal challenge that taught her an important lesson about persistence and determination: “I wanted to enlist in a combat role, but my medical profile didn’t fit. For a year and a half I worked hard to change that, and in the end I got the role I wanted. It reinforced my understanding that when you want something and fight for it, you’ll probably get it in the end.”
Sahar, for her part, remembers the hard period during her technician studies, when she felt she was the only one in the class without previous experience in electronics. “There was a point when I considered giving up, but I decided to face the challenge and see it through. Today I’m proud to say I succeeded – and it gave me the tools to handle any challenge in my career.”
Oasis: a space to grow and learn
“At Oasis we know and feel that professionalism is what counts, not gender. The company invests in our professional development – through training, courses and working closely with experts in the field. We get full support and we’re an integral part of the company’s technology work.”
Your message to women in technology
“We see more and more women joining the field – and that’s great! To anyone considering a technology career, our message is simple: follow what interests you, invest in learning, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and believe in yourself. The path to success is open to everyone – all it takes is knowledge, persistence and self-belief.”
Tips for balancing career and personal life
“You need to know how to balance – there are busy periods, and there are moments you need to devote to yourself and your family. Work is part of life, but not everything. If you love what you do and feel you’re growing, the balance comes more naturally.”

In summary: moving forward without fear
Sapir and Sahar are a great example that there’s no such thing as “a man’s profession” – there are only professions that require persistence, learning and curiosity. At Oasis Technologies we believe in diversity and in promoting excellence, and we encourage every woman who wants to enter the field to join, learn and grow with us.
Inspiring quotes:
Sapir: “Some people will criticise you for being different, but inside they wish they had the courage to do the same.”
Sahar: “If you tried and didn’t succeed – you still succeeded more than anyone who didn’t try.”
