Oasis has completed the design, build and launch of an AI factory for Cassava AI in Cape Town, South Africa. The facility is live, and customers are already using it.
The AI factory is built on the NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) reference architecture. Its first phase includes about 2,000 NVIDIA H200 GPUs, and the design allows compute to grow significantly in later phases. It sits in Cassava’s Africa Data Centres facility and connects to Cassava’s pan-African fibre network.
Oasis led the engineering from start to finish: design, integration and architecture across the compute, networking, storage and orchestration layers, acceptance and performance testing, and the move to production. Our teams also built the automation, monitoring and operations capabilities, and continue to support the platform through Oasis managed services.
The project brings together technology from NVIDIA, HPE, Arista and Rafay Systems. On top of it, Cassava offers AI cloud services, large language model training, inference, HPC workloads and GPU-as-a-Service to enterprises and research institutions, while keeping data on the African continent.
“Building an AI factory of this scale is one of the most complex engineering challenges in IT infrastructure.”
Amos Rosenboim, CTO and Co-Founder
“Completing the project marks a significant milestone for Cassava AI.”
Tomer Sharon, CEO
